No Small Journeys relates to a series of photographs of Denver and its suburbs near the Rocky Flats Nuclear Weapons Plant, a version of which was published by Aperture under the title Our Lives and our Children in 1983. In recent years, Adams felt it was important to expand the project to emphasize the simple beauty and humanity that can be found in the seemingly improbable environments we have created for ourselves all across America. Rather than focus on some looming disaster, he composed this series as a testament to that unlikely and markedly human beauty, summing up his new reaction to the work with a quotation by Edward Dahlberg: "Homer sang of many sacred towns in Hellas which were no better than Kansas City".

Since he emigrated to the West in 1989, Ilya Kabakov (now seventy years of age) and his wife Emilia have become two of the most important »masters« of the visual arts today. The work of the Kabakovs goes beyond any historical categorisation, although the viewer does receive the impression that the work refers to a specific historical point of view and to a real space. However, in a certain sense, the works are fictitious. The viewer sees staged events that never took place at all. Kabakov does not regard planet Earth as a suitable home for human beings. And human beings do not play a role in his installations. The five hundred almost unknown drawings and the fifty models of all of their new architectural projects in this book show the diverse utopic dimension of the work of the Kabakovs.

In this album Ilya Kabakov takes up the position of a fictitious artist who has become conscious of the shortcomings of people–s everyday ability to see and recognize normalcy. Artists, especially those of the Russian avant-garde, have always, by means of art, attempted to appropriate divine (in)sight, that is, a simultaneous perception of all moments in time. The artist of this album has made divine insight, or the fourth dimension, his own. He thus sees the same things we do but, contrary to others, in the right perspective. Nonetheless this perception cannot be successfully transmitted or shown. Though, by means of intuition, the inexpressible could be made visible or the unutterable in art made to resound, this would only be an attempt to translate the unknown into familiar forms or images, i.e., something the viewer is used to. Meanwhile the inexpressible is not felt and, in the end, the familiar goes unrecognized. The artist of this album, on the other hand, has just such a feeling for the unknown, the non-portrayable and the inexpressible. Multilingual edition: German, English and Russian.

Van Gogh became Van Gogh during his stay in Provence in the course of a few seasons: everything has been written about this period! Everything has been shown, including the paintings and the sites from which the painter got his inspiration. But there was room for a book which would aim to take the reader into the heart of Van Gogh's landscapes as he would have been able to see them today in the light that only photography can create, and which would be able to convey in writing the internal drama of the artist in the midst of the creative process. Claude Monet was undoubtedly the most important of all the Impressionist painters and his water lily paintings represent the culminating moment in his career. Monet's famous garden at Giverny provided the inspiration for the paintings. The exhibition will bring to life the importance and beauty of this garden through a range of archival photographs, as well as an early, rarely seen film from 1915, showing Monet painting outdoors in his garden. Monet's Water Lilies will reunite the three panels of an exceptionally impressive water lily triptych, created by Monet between 1915 and 1926. The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, the Saint Louis Art Museum, and the Cleveland Museum of Art each own one panel of the triptych and the exhibition will offer a rare opportunity to bring the works together. This will be the first time that this reunion has occurred for more than 30 years. With the single exception of a triptych in the Museum of Modern Art, this is the only triptych by Monet in the United States. The exhibition will be on view in Kansas City April 9-August 7, 2011, before traveling to St. Louis. The exhibition will travel to the Cleveland Museum of Art in 2015.

The Florentine painter Sandro Botticelli (1445-1510) is one of the greatest artists of all time.
